Yes, a Jr. Hot Shoppes, in the 50's, before they converted to Roy Rogers...

It's an ongoing thing, Element.  She and I go back and forth with each other, she's my Brit Gal Pal.

  • Nope. My first job was in the campus bookstore and that's the only retail I ever worked.

Yeah. I was the maintenance guy. They were getting snooty because I couldn't clean the fryer and have it ready to go by nine in the morning. So I grabbed the main man and told him "It is not possible to clean that machine the way I was shown to do it and have it ready by 9:00 o'clock. If John can do it, I want to know how exactly he does it."

Well, it came out that John had a key to the door and he would start about two hours earlier than I did. So the main man contacted the fryer company and asked them why it took so long for the machine to heat up. The answer was the machine was designed to use shortening, which has to be completely melted before you heat it up to full temp. But if you press a secret button, it switches to oil mode and heats to full temperature in a couple minutes. This had been going on for years and nobody was aware.

I worked at KFC my last year of high school.  My two best friends worked there with me and we all had a great time together.  We'd accidentally cook and extra pot some nights and take chicken home with us.  I still like KF Chicken.

  • (I hate answering a question with a question.)

Do you consider a Drive-In Theater snack bar fast food?  If so, "yes."

It depends on the types of food offered at a concession stand in a movie theatre and how it's prepared to determine it it falls under the fast food category. One man's opinion, that's all.
