Yes. I'm convinced he is the most sincerely religious person to occupy the oval office in recent times. (Which is not saying very much of course given the scum that usually occupies the office.)
I think it takes someone who is a bit worldly to be an effective leader. It is very hard to be in the world and not of it. People tend to either be naive to the world, or corrupted by the world. Either way they're a poor leader.
The effective leader needs a certain guile and killer instinct to crush their enemies. Anyone who has these qualities is perilously close to turning to the dark side.

2000 years ago significant wealth was accumulated by the military conquest of land, slavery etc etc with all the sinful acts of domination that entailed. In the modern world there are ethical ways to make significant wealth, so I find the camel and needle quote very lacking in relevance to modern times.
Money is power. Believing it to be dirty is slave morality. It's a belief indoctrinated into slaves to make them choose weakness instead of strength.
Only the rich have the means to run for president without kneeling, cap in hand, to the beast.
