    Howard L Chace, a professor of French wrote this version of Little Red Riding Hood in 1940 to show his students that the way words sound is essential to understanding their meaning. All the words used are in fact proper English words but they are used in a context that renders them unintelligible unless the correct intonation (a Southern American drawl) is used. Then they make glorious sense!

    Well of course I make some and not intentionally either.  Often I don't look over or proofread what I post so I do make some. Which I don't think is important at all as long as people get what I have written.  I apologize for my typos both in the past and in the future.

    Happens all the time, which is why most of my posts are edited.

    Sometimes it's Freudian.

    I help kids with homework. Often they write something like:

    X = 2y given x=1

    I tell them "X is not x. You can not stand to misspell a math statement. Mistrakes kill people."
