My cat brings me a dead mouse ever now and then and my dogs tail wags like crazy when ever I walk past him. Cheers!

I guess I'm assuming its appreciation but my feline housemate often purrs like crazy when she comes around me. And even when she doesn't purr, she often hangs out with me at my feet if I'm sitting.
    :)

One day we were walking our dog at the beach.  Our kids who were very young at the time were having a debate about whether or not to let her, Penny, off the leash.  After an especially insistent "NO" by my oldest daughter, I said, "Oh, let her run!"  With that they let Penny off the leash and she immediately came over to me and licked my hand, then took off running.  They are smarter than most people think.

Was not my own cat but one time I saw a dog harassing a cat so I managed to get the dog away and leave her alone.  Then I sat down with the cat and she came over and placed her paw on my arm with a look of appreciation on her face. This post was edited by Kittigate at July 17, 2018 7:56 AM MDT

My cat...NO. She is, after all, just a woman in a feline body.

I pinched off a painful feather pin on my Macaws head and he responded by telling me he loved me. ;+
