Happiness is my grandbabies splashing in the pool; a day on the water, fishing with my cronies; a cold iced tea watching the sunset with a Gulf breeze on my face; sleeping next to my wife. This was yesterday.
That's a pretty great day :) I think it's often the little things we appreciate most.. I don't have any grandkids yet so I will have to wait for that joy.
It was. I like to measure my day by the accumulation of those small pleasures.
Reading some of your previous posts brings to mind a quote you might appreciate; my mom-in-law has a sign in her kitchen that says “Happiness is a clean house”. I couldn’t agree more.

The "OMG" was only in reference to how messy my house is -- not a disagreement to your mother-in-law's sign. :)

Do they have raccoons in UK? Anyway, it seems that a raccoon figured out how to climb up to get in the cat's door that goes into my garage. I have had the door for 15 years and no wild animals have ever gotten in except mice and chipmunks. So the raccoon decided to stay in my garage and eat the cat's food and take 'dumps' in the corner. This went on all winter. He finally stopped coming in, I think he got too fat to get in the door. He was a bit odd, he was not afraid of me if I came out to get in the car. I was thinking I and the critter might develop a friendship. (news update; I found a dead raccoon laying on the front lawn several days ago -------- it was being eaten by turkey vultures.
