Can you cite one really good, really positive thing about global warming? ~

In 1776 the Potomac froze so solidly that soldiers ROLLED cannons across it. There was nothing humans could do to cause that low point, or to cause the warm spell that followed and which we still enjoy. Some of us enjoy it. Some call it "global warming" and insist we should wallow in self-hate because of it.

A volcanic eruption in Iceland may have had something to do with it - also caused crop failures in Europe, ever heard of the Irish Potato Famine? That was brief - a major eruption can cause a cold snap of a year or two, often followed by a corresponding warm spell, equally brief if there is sufficient vegetation in which to sink the carbon. This time there is no significant tectonic activity, it's us increasing the atmospheric CO2 concentration and we've also denuded the forests which used to absorb it. It's dissolving in the warming oceans too, leading to acidification and huge fish die-offs.
Self-loathing isn't required, ACTION is. Stop burning coal. Replant forests.

And it happened 182mya.....it is a fact that they earth goes in cycles. Ice Ages to warming ages. Dry emply desert to lush green forest and back again. Cycles the earth never stays the same.
There are places in that had to stop growing certain crops because it is too cold to grow them now.

What else can you attribute the spike in oceanic CO2 to?

The earth goes through cycles its climate does in fact change has since its existence.

    You’re fooling yourself, M2C.

There is no longer any coherent argument against man’s direct role in the changing climate. None. All the current science demonstrates the increases in atmospheric CO2 that are raising global temperatures, are primarily borne of man’s burning of fossil fuels in the last 100-150 years. Whatever cycle of climate the earth may be in on it’s own, are exacerbated by our massive contributions of carbon to the earth’s environment and compounded by widespread deforestation.

Switch off the FoxNews and open up some real science sources. Much to be learned. This post was edited by Don Barzini at August 1, 2018 4:43 PM MDT

You cannot teach a closed mind. She probably also believes that the Earth is flat.

Nope....why would I believe that the earth is flat or 6000 yrs old?

Climate deniers, creationists and flat earthers are all in the same ballpark - wedded to outmoded ideas when proof of the contrary is staring them in the face.
All cyclic changes happen SLOWLY - over thousands or tens of thousands of years. This is blindingly fast - a mere couple centuries. Paleontologists don't even use that time scale.

I've heard it said that it has postponed the next ice age.

Higher demand for production of air conditioning units will be good for the economy now and since almost everybody is employed at present so they can afford one.
