Rhode Island just won't make it as a child's name.

I would like to preface my choice with:
I like this state very much and the people that are from it.  It is not a personal statement on the state.  My choice is about the laziness in speech patterns and listening to what others say.  Please don't take offense.

    Iowa.
Even though it is pronounced eye-oh-wa, sometimes it sounds like I-owe-ya.  From the moment that child is born, he might go through life thinking he/she owes everyone something.

Massachusetts.  Too much of a mouthful to say ("here comes the train.  Open wide, Massachew... Massasachute ... Misterche...   mastachewtous ... masa... oh, just wake up and eat the stupid mashed peas!")

Now for those who had kids 50 or so years ago will know that Washington is a good name - just due to diapers.

      Thanks.
(I don't get the association between Washington and diapers, though.)

Wash-a-ton.  You used to have to wash diapers (no disposable ones).

  • I probably wouldn't named my kid "West Virginia".

In fact, "Dakota" is the only reasonable name derived from a U.S. state. No offense to Florida Evans.

"Carolina" and "Georgia" are decent too, I suppose, but old-fashioned.

What about Virginia, Montana or Delaware?

  • Virginia is a possible candidate. I'll skip the other two.

Oh come now Element.  We all know "West" is a popular name now-a-days. ....  You could have West with a middle name Rhode and last name Kardashian.  Who knew?  The possibilities are sensationally disgusting.

Maybe I need to get my hearing checked. Big winks and smiles.
Nice picture, though.  That is truly a "I'm confused, but trying to get it look!"

Liver is an organ in your body.  For those who might not know.  You can play the organ, the musical instrument, while living in Oregon, the state, with your organ, the liver, that  can live anywhere including Oregon, while playing the organ instrument. .  The way people say live sometimes sounds like liver.  "Well I'za liver right over yonder, ya' 'ear."

    Dakota
    Georgia
    Virgina
    Carolina
    Louise or Louis (LA)
    Kent or Tucker (KY)
    Wynonna (WY)
    Penny or Sylvia (PN)

Nothing else I can think of would be ok for a name.
