I can only speak for myself: I have some dark secrets that I wish I didn't have, some dark secrets that I'm kind of glad to have, some secrets that aren't very dark, some light secrets, etc. You get the idea.
I stole penny candy from a neighborhood store. In those days, we had no cash, so we stole the candy. A decade later, I sent the store owner $5, to repay for the theft. It was many times what I stole.
When my wife and I were starving students we went to a church that was giving a free dinner in the hope we would stay and watch their movie presentation and become members. We sneaked out after eating. Years later when I had some money, I sent that church U$ 1,000 and explained why.
I bet everybody has a dark secret. Mine is I grew up around racist and thief's and it took me 26 years to figure out that they were bad which is the dark part because I should of figured it out when I was 5. Cheers!

Perhaps it would but I think I used it best to help talk my 2 sons into not going down the wrong road - sort of like scared straight stories told before they got in trouble. Cheers!
