Link did not work  (for me anyway) but I googled '5 year old detained at border' to get the story.

  • (link didn't ... well, you know)

When I was a minor, I signed up for a Jack Lalanne membership.  Two months later I decided to quit/ break the contract and because I hadn't had a parent cosign the agreement Jack Lalanne was unable to sue for losses.

So ... "it's not only not okay, but probably not legal."

Yep, no legal contract possible with youngsters. The left should know this, but it could also be some media nonsense.

    Funny.
You realize the government does it every day, and has for decades.  Yes, before Trump.

    It's called "public school".
Children are required to attend school ... and lose many of their Rights during that time.

A child can be home schooled.   They don't have to go to a physical school.

Yes ... but the vast majority of American's can't home school because both parents are working.
So the vast majority of children have to be sent to either a public or private school.
And courts constantly rule that children in public school (or anyone on school property) have their Rights limited.

    1st Amendment (freedom of speech)
2nd Amendment (bear arms, of course)
    4th Amendment (search and seizure)
6th Amendment (rights of the accused)

Unenforceable as the child is a minor.
