  • The market seems to be picking-up lately.
I'm up to three or four calls a day.

         I love my answering machine!

Land-line users? Goodness, please don't limit it there!!!!  I get more texts and more blanket-phone calls on my iphone than I can count PER Day.  What's funny is when one just called me and another calls on the second line.  I shouldn't be that popular.   I quit answering my phone if a person's name doesn't show.  It would be a drag if I was the winner of a lotto. :)
    To answer directly, I'd say at least 21 to 27 A DAY. :( :(.

Many of those private calls on your lines are mine. You never answer. (I'm not even selling anything!)  Grrrrrrrrrr.

Oh Randy, it's o.k.  Since we are being honest, I must confess.  You will most certainly recognize my answer.  Now you know.  The voice that reaches out and touches someone in more ways than one.

There you have it.  I jump on "Millionaire.." in my spare time.  That is when I'm not telling everyone to press 1....

SHE'S FINE AS HELL, MERLIE!  Wow, how beautiful she is!   Her use of rise, pitch and inflection is so good that it drives me crazy with lust, and her diction is perfect, too!  I bet her grammar is spot-on. I want her so badly you wouldn't believe it. Grrrrrrrrr.

Excuse me, I need to go take a series of cold showers. I'll be back later.

Lots.  Telemarketers, requests for money, and surveys that lose all interest when they hear how old I am.  You do know that over 55 we no longer matter to advertisers because I guess we don't buy anything.

  • I haven't tried it on telemarketers, but if you tell a door-to-door salesperson that you're unemployed ... they're out the door! This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 13, 2018 3:45 AM MDT

We don't get a lot of those, other than Girl and Boy scouts. Once in a while a home-improvement salesperson will show up, but everything inside and outside my house is newer and we don't need any work.

  • I guess the door-to-door people are becoming an endangered species.

Knowing my luck, they would switch to people who want to hire me.  "Earn up to $1500 a night.  Dancers wanted.  No experience necessary!  We train. "  All they would have to do is have the automated voice read the ad.  Big giggles!

Then why do they keep calling? Oh well...I just click my phone on, then off. I had one harrassed me for two weeks. I finally told them I was with the FBI and we were tracing their number. That didn't work.

We might not matter to advertisers, but over 55 is the prime age range for scammers to exploit.

Probably average about 3 and some even use a local number with a name and then comes the recording.

  • It used to be about a half dozen a day, until I started answering the phone with "Radiology, can I help you?".  If it's a robo call, I will press the 2 key, for a live person and tell them that they called radiology and please take "us" off the list.  They always do, no questions asked.   Now I might get about 2 or 3 a week. • Yes, it worked for me. I went from around six calls a day and now I get maybe 3 at the most in a week.

We only get a couple a month so I'm wondering if there s a reason you are getting way more calls then me and if you found that reason maybe you could cut down on the number of calls you are getting. Selling phone numbers and e-mail addresses is big business - maybe a business or organisation you deal with is selling you information. Cheers and happy weekend!
