My husband, Don.  My friends.  Surprising people with nice things without them knowing who was responsible.  All animals, the planet Earth and nature.
    Come to think of it...
I'm just a NERD all the way around!

  • I'm a big nerd too and there's nothing wrong with that.

So how do you go about getting your nature fix?

If you have a couple hours, I would share my days from beginning to end.
Since we don't, I'll try to wrap it up in nutshell.  I'm sure others would appreciate that too.

The magic nature brings to me
and I to it  is somewhat a formality

    I exchange a man-made piece of plastic
for natures art that is fantastic

I give plants and flowers back to Earth where they belong
filling them with care, vitamins, water, and song

And then I go to the place Where I belong
with sand in my toes, my hair and my thong

I go and play in the ocean
and there, Lenina, I am surrounded in euphoric emotion

My husband also makes me very happy and full of emotion, naturally
    but that is another story!

This is how I get my nature on!  Giving Back and being grateful and thankful!! :):)

The complete balls up that Star Wars has become since selling out to the House of Mouse. Disney has screwed it royally.

  • Yeah, that's too bad, really. Do you collect any Star Wars memorabilia?

Books - which are no longer canon thanks to JJ Abrams, who can't read.

Steaks and fish. I’ve created some knockout sauces for grilled fish.

  • Genealogy. I love it, and I wish just one other person whom I know would nerd out over with me.  I don't mind my own island, but sometimes a visitor would be nice. lol

  • It does sound fascinating, for sure. How far back can you trace your ancestry? Any interesting finds while you've been researching?

  • I have been doing Genealogy for about 20 years, and I learned my dad and his side are Italian.  My dad had no idea.    My mom's side was traced back to the mid-1500's, and my dad's side so far has been traced back to the 1700's.    It's amazing - I have found death certificates, marriage certificates, old pictures, all kinds of things on Ancestry.  I love it. • That does sound amazing. Is there anyone notable that you're related to that you wouldn't mind sharing here? If not, no worries, I understand wanting to maintain privacy :)

  • No one famous that I have found.  There are a few on my mom's side who were locally well known in their area - in Idaho, near the Tetons, and then on my dad's side around the Deadwood/Black Hills area of South Dakota, but no one that most of the people would know.    That would be cool though!

I have a very vivid imagination; however, this took me over-the-top.  How do you "nerd" on chickens?
I know they are smarter than many think.  I know it is truly amazing that they make eggs in a 24 hour period and feel sorry for them that any and everything seems to like to eat them.  Ick!  I feel sorry for them...
But I don't know how to "nerd" on them.  Please do tell us more! :) :)

  • Sure sure.
I have been raising them for about a year now. I have Bhramas and Easter Egger. Those things you mention yes they are amazing.
But there is so much more to them.
I have become attached to them And have read a whole lot too.
So When someone brings up the chicken subject I'm all over it. Yeah but did you know that...Or sure but how about this...
    Kinda like that.
