There's such thing as right wing vegans. The most annoying vegan I've know was also a hardcore conservative who also told me I shouldn't be working on Sundays because God or something.
That's a big percent - if it's a accurate poll done in all the states it sure would get my curiosity going because there must be a reason for it. Cheers!
Not enough of the required proteins to support the cognitive brain functions of a normal human brain. They did not know that when they chose there lifestyle.
I'd have to see who did the survey, the researcher's institution or background and possibly who paid for the study. I could not find corroborating evidence, but I did find a survey with good academic credentials which came up with opposite results: Political Science & Sociology, Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ 07764-1898, USA; Published: 17 November 2017 Quoting from the abstract: [In a] survey of 287 American vegans... Most respondents were ethically motivated vegans, liberal voters, and intersectionally-oriented activists who reported multiple engagements with various leftist movements. Only four percent of respondents voted Trump, while 14% agreed with or were neutral about Trump’s campaign promise to put “America first”. Those who were vegan for reasons of self-interest and had been vegan for less than a year were significantly more likely to support Trump’s conservative agenda and were slightly less likely to participate in other social movements.
Note the correlation between ethically-motivated versus self-interested veganism and liberal versus conservative politics. Self-interested vegans are those who choose the diet because they believe it is the healthiest. Ethically motivated vegans avoid all animal products (not just diet, but including cosmetics, clothing, footwear etc) out of concern for the sentience and well-being of all species of animals.
