How might Earth's chief religions interpret or incorporate the existence of sentient (and spiritually conscious) life on other planets?

Would such a discovery support the core beliefs of, among others, Muslims, Jews and Christians; even if, for instance, those extra-terrestrials tend to be monotheistic but know of nothing alike the Bible?

Well the Lucis Trust (formally Lucifer Publishing Company for Alice Bailey's fondness of Lucifer described as "one of the solar light being's or ascended Masters who sacrificed himself for mankind), who's husband was a 33rd degree Freemason) and funded by the United Nations as the (old but New Age belief) will tell you how they intend to do this. See link.

We have a New Jesus Christ, well his name isn't Jesus or Yeshua anymore, its

    Lord Metreya or Sanat Kumara

    Far out man!!

It's strange because I'm sure the bible says "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Albert Pike 33rd degree freemason "Morals and Dogma"...

“Fictions are necessary for the people, and the Truth becomes deadly to those who are not strong enough to contemplate it in all its brilliance. In fact, what can there be in common between the vile multitude and sublime wisdom? The Truth must be kept secret, and the masses need a teaching proportioned to their imperfect reason.”

“We shall unleash the nihilists and the atheists and we shall provoke a great social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to all nations the effect of absolute atheism; the origins of savagery and of most bloody turmoil.

Then everywhere, the people will be forced to defend themselves against the world minority of the world revolutionaries and will exterminate those destroyers of civilization and the multitudes disillusioned with Christianity whose spirits will be from that moment without direction and leadership and anxious for an ideal, but without knowledge where to send its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer brought finally out into public view. A manifestation which will result from a general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and Atheism; both conquered and exterminated at the same time.”

I am Isis, Queen of this country. I was instructed by Mercury. No one can destroy the laws which I have established. I am the eldest daughter of Saturn, most ancient of the Gods.”

“Masonry, like all the Religions, all the Mysteries, Hermeticism and Alchemy, conceals its secrets from all except the Adepts and Sages, or the Elect, and uses false explanations and misinterpretations of its symbols to mislead those who deserve only to be misled; to conceal the Truth, which it calls Light from them and to draw them away from it. p.104-5”

“Thus the scientific theories of the ancients, expounded in the Mysteries, as to the origin of the soul, its descent, its sojourn here below, and its return, were not a mere barren contemplation of the nature of the world, and of the intelligent beings existing there. They were not an idle speculation as to the order of the world, and about the soul, but a study of the means for arriving at the great object proposed, the perfecting of the soul; and, as a necessary consequence, that of morals and society. This Earth, to them, was not the Soul's home, but its place of exile. Heaven was its home, and there was its birth-place. To it, it ought incessantly to turn its eyes. Man was not a terrestrial plant. His roots were in Heaven. The soul had lost its wings, clogged by the viscosity of matter. It would recover them when it extricated itself from matter and commenced its upward flight.”

“The Apocalypse is, to those who receive the nineteenth Degree, the Apotheosis of that Sublime Faith which aspires to God alone, and despises all the pomps and works of Lucifer. LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish Souls? Doubt it not! For traditions are full of Divne Revelations and Inspirations: and Inspirations is not of one Age or of one Creed.
    p. 321”

“What is truth to the philosopher, would not be Truth, nor have the effect of Truth, to the peasant. The religion of the many must necessarily be more incorrect than that of the refined and reflective few, not so much in the essence as in its forms, not so much in the spiritual idea which lies latent at the bottom of it, as the symbols and dogmas in which that idea is embodied.”

“Religion would, in many points, not be comprehended by the ignorant, nor consolatory to them, nor guiding and supporting for them. The doctrines of the Bible are often clothed in the language of strict truth, but in that which was fittest to convey to a rude and ignorant people the practical essentials of the doctrine. A perfectly pure faith, free from all extraneous admixtures, a system of noble theism and lofty morality, would find too little preparation for it in the common mind and heart.”

“The Teachers, even of Christianity, are in general, the most ignorant of the true meaning of that which they teach. There is no book of which so little is known as the Bible. To most who read it, it is as incomprehensible as the Sohar. p. 105”

It’s been my experience that the devout would explain that their holy books say what God intended for people to know.
This does not exclude the idea that The Creator could have done more creating elsewhere in the cosmos, but had no cause to share that information.

In fairness, the ancients who formed these religions had precious little understanding of the universe.

    ===================================================================================

Muslims do not believe that the Holy Qur'an [HQ] is the only scripture revealed by God. They believe that God is the creator of all and therefore fair to and concerned for the guidance of all. As such He revealed Himself and His guidance to everyone that ever existed at any time and any place on earth. His guidance was always tailored for the people it was meant for. Muslims accept the likes of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron and Jesus to have been true prophets and messengers of God and name their children after them. They believe that the vast majority of previous revelations have got lost in time, and that the few that have survived in some form have had distortions and bias introduced into them.

So we can see that according to Islam if God addressed bygone generations on earth with messages appropriate to them then there is no reason why He couldn't do that with other sentient beings elsewhere in the cosmos.

The HQ has verses like those below which remind and warn mankind of mankind's impermanence and God's ability to wipe out one creation and replace it with another.

"Do you not perceive that [it is] indeed God [who has] created the heavens and the earth in accordance with [His] truth [reality]? [Thus] He can, if He so wills, do away with you and bring forth a new creation [in your stead] HQ 14:19

"If He [God] so wills, He can cause you, O mankind, to disappear, and bring forth other beings [in your stead]: for God has indeed the power to do this." HQ 4:133

The Bible does not say earth has the only created beings just that we are created as was the heavens and the earth.

Each religion would interpret it differently. Zen Buddhists, for example, would see it an another example of the universe expressing its consciousness.

Each believer's own view would very much depend on his or her own view of other sects and religions here on Earth - sadly too many consider themselves to have a monopoly on "truth". If they do that even within their own faith, they can hardly be expected to welcome the other planet's inhabitants' religions.

it's important to remember the real nature of the Bible, Talmud and Q'ran - and equivalents in other ancient religions. They record their authors' and followers' religious and social beliefs at a time when no-one could possibly have conceived that there may be similarly-sentient life elsewhere in the Galaxy (let alone Universe). No-one at the time knew anything about what we would call Astronomy: they could only know that the Sun rises and sets daily, and the Moon waxes and wanes regularly, but had no idea why; and the stars were just mysterious dots of light. Hence the Bible not trying to speculate on such things.

If there is a god of some sort, perhaps He/She/(or logically)It has endeavoured as far as divinely possible to place similarly-inhabited planets at very safe distances apart!
