Any religious folks out there not Republicans/Conservatives/trumpicans? Any of you Democrats/Progressives/Liberals true believers?

Why do I ask? Why does anyone ask any question? To get an answer to an unknown of course. That is how ignorance is replaced by knowledge and how NOT knowing becomes knowing. Any other questions?

The word "religious" is a pretty generic term. If by "religious folks" you mean a born-again believer in and follower of Jesus the Messiah, then I am one of those "religious folks". Am I a Republican or a trumpican? No, I am not but I am a Conservative. Do I have any other questions? I didn't ask you any questions. :)

    Most religious folks are conservative.

Actually, that's not completely true. I've met many observant Jews who are liberal Democrats.

I know it is said that Jewish people in the bigger cities tend to be liberal. I have no reason to doubt that...all people in big cities tend to be liberal.

I have never met a believing observant Jew in person or on the internet. I personally know several Messianic Jews...they are not liberals. This post was edited by my2cents at December 2, 2018 8:22 AM MST

Messianic Jews believe in Jesus' divinity as the Messiah and that salvation is achieved by accepting Jesus as one's savior. Other Christian groups and the Supreme Court of Israel consider it a form of Christianity, not Judaism.

I know that Messianic Jews believe and follow Yeshua. They do not like to be called Christian. However, they are the only Jews I have met who believe in God at all.

Whatever they like or don't like to be called, their beliefs align more with those of Christianity, and belief in Jesus as a savior is diametrically opposed to the beliefs and values of traditional Judaism.

Ok. They are Jewish by heritage. Still besides the point. Point is believers tend to be conservative.

I liked this response when years ago someone (a Catholic Bishop) was asked if he was a liberal or a conservative:

"I'm liberal with what I understand and conservative with what I don't"

Well tom I have a problem with that. Who doesn't understand that separating children from their parents and locking them up in cages and kennels or placing them in tent cities is evil and awful and what evil awful people do? Conservatives done done dose bad tings. Liberals may but are not as apt to do so.  Who doesn't understand that giving very wealthy people tax  cuts while cutting programs for those in need isn't evil and awful? That is what Conservatives done did.. Not so much Liberals. So while that saying you quoted sounds quite profound it doesn't make any sense to me. Now I am NOT saying it makes no sense. I am saying it makes no sense to me. Perhaps it is way too profound for my brain to grasp. Thank you for your reply. Sorry I don't get it.

Separating children from parents while they are in jail is not a liberal or conservative issue....it is a fact of the justice system.
Obama, Bush, Clinton, and every other President has separated children from their parents if they were arrested....even of arrested for illegal immigration.

If one understands something, one is confident that their approach to and opinions about that issue have value, but will defer to additional information as it is learned.

If I don't understand something, I tend to stand where I am rather than implementing changes that may or may not be good ideas.

As I said to m2c, I know many observant Jews who are liberal Democrats. Also some who are anti-Trump Republicans.

C'est moi. My religious faith is all that keeps me from being an outright Communist. I'm as radical as all-get-out, as was John the Baptist who was practically a Marxist. Yeshua was a social democrat.

No Jesus was not a socialist and certainly not a democrat (no political parties then) Jesus said the church, not the gov is to take care of the poor. We are to pay our taxes. (Give unto Caesar what is Caesars) Jesus did not say give unto Caesar so Caesar can give unto the poor.

Church can take care of the spiritual aspect of the poor if necessary but should one trust them to provide free healthcare, old age pension and other social benefits for non-religious people?

Eg- "You're an atheist .. you can  go freeze in the dark"

The point is Jesus did not say trust in the gov to take care of the poor. Jesus taught believers.

I have never seen a church turn down helping people in need because of their lack of belief.
There are healthcare sharing programs as well.

Ok the government is reliable and consistent but the church relies on adequate donations.

I know there were no parties, which is why I spelled democrat in lower case. Radical he most certainly was, challenging the establishment at every opportunity, mocking those who became wealthy at the expense of the poor (Mark 12: 41-44) and he had absolutely no tolerance of hypocrisy (something Republucan "Christians" should observe more closely). Trump evidently missed Matthew 19:24 (look it up).

Jesus would not support a party that supports abortion and believes in creating something else for people to put their trust instead of God.
Just as He said a rich man cannot get in, not because he is rich but because of his faith in his money rather than God....Jesus would not have people put their faith in the gov rather than God.
Yes, Jesus called out the hypocrites...there are plenty on all sides. Republicans certainly do not have the market cornered. This post was edited by my2cents at December 2, 2018 7:43 PM MST

One thing people forget is that Jesus was also a King, however he said that his kingdom was not of this world, hence he wasn't involved in the politics of it.  This world belonged to the Prince of the air. Ephesians 2: 1-3: “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others”. I am a liberal progressive and the Dems seem to be carrying the message far better than the GOP.    Check this channel out on You Tube, The Young Turks

They hate Trump and they are awesome.

I am neither liberal nor republican. I did vote for trump because I think he was the better choice. He proved me right because he is doing a great job. I am a christian with a strong belief in God. Anybody who has read the bible will tell you, it was written by our creator, because every single prophecy has come true so far, and nothing in the bible can be proven wrong. It stands to be the only way we humans can receive guidends and purpose , and has held true since the beginning of creation. When the THEORY of evolution and the THEORY of a spherical earth was introduced 500 years ago, the masses started to turn away from God, from truth, and from any hope for eternal life. Poor misguided fools. Satan was right when he said, humans are stupid, because up until 500 years ago, we new the earth was flat, and that God created everything, until scientism and theories that completely contradict the bible came into our belief system. We ate it up like candy, and proved Satan right, we are stupid as a whole. Its time to get right with God. In the name of Jesus.

We knew for thousands of years the Earth was not flat.
Sailors could see it, as could anyone who stood upon a mountain, looking at the horizon.

If anyone was teaching wrong science, it was the Church.
