When you meet new people... is it the differences you first notice of the similarities?

  • For me it's probably their differences, and that is not necessarily a negative thing.  Most of my friends have been "opposites".

    I think I meant generally... and inevitably I was wondering about myself.. I seem not to notice differences as much as most people.. I seem to notice similarities..  I am not really sure why that is.

    I only meet two kinds of people. One kind jabbers endlessly, the other kind expects me to do all the talking. Between the two kinds, I never learned to carry a conversation. People who expect a conversation conclude "He doesn't have much to say, does he?"

    I am a bit of a jabberer but I do make a conscious effort to make time for the other person to speak too - I'd hate to have them think I didn't listen and share the conversation.
