I should have about 15 years left. Look at what some people do in 25 years! I could become a billionaire or figure out how life began in the time I have left. For now, I think I'll just take a nap. Oh, one thing about getting older: I don't save all the scrap and screws from my building projects anymore. I used to say, "These might come in handy later on." Now "later on" is getting shorter and shorter and I've already saved a garage full of scrap and screws.
Good quility old Ametican tools are hard to come buy in England....My dad collects and uses them all still....most all he has collected are so beautifully made....:)
My wife bought a Henry Disston D-8 vintage handsaw (circa WWII) at a garage sale. I think she paid a dollar for it. It's in much better shape than this one.

My parents never let any negative old age thoughts influence their thinking. As a result I don't think that way either:) Some will say its being in denial..lol. But I don't let my biological age influence my life or my self talk. Moma said, "You're as young as you feel and if you are smart enough to take care of yourself, and lucky enough to be fit and healthy through life, you will always feel young:)"
Have you ever tried to make anything from Styrofoam? It's about like cutting butter, but not as fast.
So I bought a few sheets of Styrofoam insulation board, 2"thick, intending to put it on my foundation. That is because I noticed my floor was a lot colder at the edges, and when I looked outside I could see the foundation exposed as much as a foot in places. So it's no big deal to dig around the foundation and set Styrofoam there, right?
So I got these sheets, 4' x 8', and commenced to cutting them into strips 9 1/2" wide. Five strips per board. That took me two freaking nights. Then it took me an entire afternoon to dig 12' of foundation and set strips against the cement. It took another afternoon to dig and set a second strip. Already I could tell that my results were well worth the effort, but I thought I was going to die from the effort. Fortunately my SIL brought her son and he volunteered to do the rest of the job for me. It took him an hour to do the entire house!
I went back to bed. I tell you what, it is amazing to wake up in a warm house!
I'm aware that time is short, and could be cut shorter when I least expect it. But I find it doesn't make me care less. I try to live my life in the awareness that every choice and action has repercussions.
