  • Seriously? I wouldn’t recommend bowling cos you have to wear shoes that who the hellz knows who was wearing before you... and then there’s the whole issue of the germs in the finger holes of the bowling ball, so gross :/ . But you should definitely experience going to a drive- in if still have one in your area... it’s the bomb-diggity :)

Drive-ins are almost obsolete in Australia.
I'd have to travel a few hundred kilometres to the outskirts of a major metropolitan city to find one.

Bowling - I never had any interest in it.

  • Ahhhh :) you’re from Australia :) I love people from that part of the world. Cos they say things like “ smoko” for work break.. and call flip flops “thongs“ :) my fave part about people from that part of the world is / was talking them on phone and here them say” I’m sitting on the deck” deck doesn’t sound like deck :) also I know you don’t eat chicken wings like people in North America do. You’re better off With  No chicken wings and bowling :)

  • That’s crazy :) it must be a North American thing :) I really had no idea That they were North American activities until I posted this question and got the two responses I did. Unless you are very young.. another activities are kinda obsolete here and have been for about ten years... so maybe same there :)

I wish we had one, I would go. I loved going as a child and young teen.

  • Going to drive in is one of my favourite childhood memories :) it’s pretty much the only thing I can remember doing as an entire family before my parents split. My sister and I would wear pj’s there and would have a bed made for us in the back of the station wagon and my dad would always bring windeX and clean the front window at drive in before we watched the movie... which is odd... cos he probably could have done that at home before we went :) I’m not getting all sentimental and shizzat. Just rambling :)

  • My sister had a bowling party for her 30th bday Party. That was the last time I went bowling. I asked for the “bumper“ lane. That’s the kid lanes on the end where the gutters are blocked off. TOTS crushed the bowling ;)

The last time I went to a drive-in was 1964 and I almost froze. I had to leave because the VW bug would not heat the car at idle.

Drive-ins were mostly gone by the 1970s when I was a teenager.  Never went to one but people a few years older yes most of them did go. So I pretty much missed out on all that. Not that it is anything I ever wanted to do.

Have been bowling but years ago and with the small balls (candlepins).

I haven't been bowling for thirty years. Contrariwise, it's only a year or two since I last went to the drive-in (we still have one in Adelaide. Just one). Difference is, these days at the drive-in I actually watch the movie.
