    Not for me.
Flies don't have the traits I need in a pet.

  • Maybe .. they would certainly not be picky about what you feed them.  But they might not do well on a leash or using a litter box.

I keep reading this question and want to answer so I will.

Only If you pull their wings off and leave them in a corner. And on Saturday suck them up in the vacuum.

Wow someone on here has a mean streak a mile wide.  Poor flies.  They didn't ask to be born flies.

It's quite easy to make a paper airplane and glue flies to the wings. I once made one using a match stick for the body and a cigarette paper for the wing. Glue on the paper makes it easy to form a tube and shape it into a wing. I caught a fly using a glass and stuck it on with super glue. They fly slowly around the room until they starve.

  • No, but they do help keep my dog entertained.  He catches them, and I kill them.

He's totally forgiven.  He's a dog.  What about these monsters on this question who delight in torturing them?

  • lol As long as they leave my bees, ladybugs, butterflies and dragonflies alone, I am good with them killing flies.  It's  mosquitoes that I wish people would focus on killing though.  My daughter had West Nile in her first trimester, and that was scary.   (She's in her 3rd now and fine) This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 12, 2019 7:37 PM MST

Mosquitos are a plague, but have a real cool name.   You gotta give them that.

  • I knew a guy with that last name.  It also reminds me of Mojitos.

Come on.  Honest to goodness?  I never even thought of how cool the name mosquito is until now and share this idea with the one person who knows someone with that LAST NAME?

    That is so freaking COOL!!!!!

Flies and mosquitoes perform only one useful function - food for frogs. Other than thst, they're God's only mistakes.
