Maybe. My sister did the ancestry thing and found out about our father. His ancestry was Northern Germanic. She is sending me the report so I can scrutinize it better.

  • Probably to a very small degree. My dad's side is mostly British, but I believe there is some Scandinavian in there far down the line.

My nutty aunt researched the genealogy just like she knew what she was doing and concluded that we are descended from Old King Cole, the guy in the nursery rhyme. He was immortalized because he saved a lot of lives by entertaining the Roman soldiers instead of trying to beat them in combat.

It doesn't mean much because European royal families have always been so randy that anybody with white skin can probably trace lineage from some or all of them.

Probably not. My family come from the West Midlands, a region of England where very few Nordic people settled.

FINLAND! That was the first thing I thought of! And that is related to why fire trucks are red!

“Because they have eight wheels and four people on them, and four plus eight makes twelve, and there are twelve inches in a foot, and one foot is a ruler, and Queen Elizabeth was a ruler, and Queen Elizabeth was also a ship, and the ship sailed the seas, and there were fish in the seas, and fish have fins, and the Finns fought the Russians, and the Russians are red, and fire trucks are always rushin' around, so that’s why fire trucks are red!”

You would not believe what a chore it was to compose that with Windows 10. This is a borrowed computer and I spend almost half my time wondering "WTF is this thing doing?" Also you can't have a printer because the system won't load a non-Microsoft driver.
