Not much!  I have a wee garbage disposal (my chihuahua) who makes sure nothing goes to waste.  He's good that way.

  • Nice, I don’t throw much away either cos just pick up what I want every day for the most part. I’ve been watching too much John Oliver lately and he says most Americans waste food, so I was curious. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at April 11, 2019 6:59 PM MDT

We don't throw away much because we don't eat very much. We only eat one meal a day at home during the week.

  • Nice, I’m pretty much the same. I saw on a show that $162 billion worth of food is wasted a year in the U.S.,  that’s awful.

Waste very little food 'specially since I started buying mostly frozen produce so it don't spoil.

Waste not, want not is the catch word in our household.  So very little

I try to prepare as much as I will eat in one meal.  Some things like spaghetti or meatloaf is going to have leftovers but I often freeze them.  I never put more on my plate than I will eat.  I really don't throw food away save egg yolks.  I love eggs but use few yolks.

  • The yolks are the best part! IMO

I don't like them.  Plus that is where the cholesterol and fat lives.

Fer sure.  The human brain is more than 60% fatty tissue so if you don't get enough fat/cholesterol in your diet your brain could become defective.

Same as others.. I rarely throw food away. Hate waste! My daughter however will very often eat only half of anything, then leave the remains lying around :(

  • I wonder where all the wasters are then, so far none here.

  • I only really throw away apples, I keep buying them but never eat them. Not really throw away though. Throw outside and something will eat them. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at April 11, 2019 7:02 PM MDT

Hey, wait. I thought you were throwing me those apples so that I would have something to munch on while I hang out by your bedroom window at night and watch you sleep . . .

I absolutely abhor wasting food, so I make every attempt possible to keep from doing it. On a monthly basis, I throw away very little food, but I cannot quantify a specific amount.
