Do you think AG Barr should be arrested and jailed because he needs a holiday from politics/Trump administration?

He appears to be a little fatigued;  somewhat stressed out.

"House Democrats on the Judiciary Committee voted to find Attorney General William Barr in contempt for not complying with the panel's subpoenas to provide documents related to special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia report."

  • Sadly, the new "norm" in the US is that lying is OK.  Barr used to have a good reputation .. but as with most people who take a job in the Trump administration, he has to lie to stay in our King Donald's and his loyal flock's good graces.
There are no longer any checks and balances in our government ... King Donald is systematically getting rid of those.

Well he did write that 4 page summary so he is probably frazzled out and could have developed Carpal tunnel symptoms. I watched a clip of him being questioned he looked stress and scared because he knows he has dug himself into a hole and sooner or later he will be going to jail. Cheers!

I think he should be jailed for failure to appear in response to a subpoena issued to him.

He was not subpoenaed to appear. He was going voluntarily.

"....he should be jailed for failure to appear..."  Barr was not under subpoena to appear before the House Committee.

What they put him in contempt for was not releasing the Mueller report unredacted. Legally the AG is not allowed to release it unredacted. Grand jury and classified information is illegal to release.

Holder was also held in contempt of Congress as well.

Why do you Trumpites always have to bring up someone else?  We weren't talking about Eric Holder.  We are talking about William Barr.

Precedent is fine for some things, but Trump has gone way over the line when it comes to the conduct of previous presidents.

Maybe, but that's no basis for sending anyone else to prison. Sorry, but nothing can be done now, to Barr or anyone else, to reverse the 2016 election results.

And nothing can be done now to reverse Obama's 8 years in office.  It's time to stop holding up Obama's administration as an example when Trump wants to do something immoral, illegal or unpresidential.

I don't believe that anyone is doing that. Holder can be used as precedent for how Barr should be treated.

You don't think Trump is unpresidential?  You all thought Holder was wrong and shouldn't have gotten away with doing what he did, but ow that Trump is doing it - or wants to do it - it's OK because Holder did it.  How about justifying doing something because there is a substantial basis for it - not because someone else got away with something. This is about Barr. I'm not making any argument about Trump, and there's no point in trying to re-litigate the 2016 election.

Because everyone acts like everything that happens is new and the world is going to explode.

Just showing that everything they complain about their previous Presidents/administrations have done as well. This post was edited by my2cents at May 9, 2019 8:10 AM MDT

There is probably no prior president that has flouted the law or the Constitution to the extent that Trump has.  Certainly, no prior president has lied as much.
