If the holocaust had happened HERE, I'll bet we'd be protected.. Nonetheless, I don't think antisemitism is institutionalized here. It's more of a one on one basis. Of course, when I was a kid, there were "restricted" places where Jews weren't allowed. But, they disappeared WITHOUT any government interference.

I strongly support the legal protection of minority rights, I only wish our justice system actually practiced this concept.
The smallest minority of them all is the individual. Our justice system, both major parties and all who support purely democratic govt. choose to vote away the rights of individuals on a regular basis. Property rights, speech, lifestyles, income... All have been on the chopping block and the faithful line up to impose their will on the "less equal"every voting cycle.
Many are the same people who make a living spewing platitudes about equality a civil liberties.
Minority protectionism is a farce in this country. It amounts to little more than an open lie. It's the wedge issue of political hypocrites who posture as noble protectors, but stab individual liberty in the back at first opportunity.

It was white people who Pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor in founding this country
It was "white" people who fought the revolutionary war
It was "white" people who fought the civil war.

First, I am willing to bet that there are more people alive today, in THIS country who lived through the Holocaust than did live through slavery, after all we are a nation of immigrants aren't we. or do some just not count'

What do you mean? If you assert that there is such a thing as "minority privilege", explain why it would not work when white people are a minority.
What is this "protected class" status? Is this some status that minorities are granted? Are you saying it's implicit in society today, or is this some kind of legal status I'm not aware of?
And get ready to be labelled "thugs" and "animals" by the majority, because that's what happens when minorities today take such action.
