  • Your gas prices are just awful!  I'm hoping your public transportation is reasonably priced.  (In the US, public transport isn't always even available or practical.  And .. things are so spread out in many cases, that walking is out of the question.)

Train and bus fares are extortionate ...a 35 mile train return ticket will cost you £35 ..
.in London you can't  pay cash and get on a bus...You have buy a card for £ ten pounds and put a minimum £ 5 five pounds on it even if you want to only go one stop...one stop costs .75 pence ...in rush hour  you carn't get on our over crowded busses  ,if you do ,you get battered by people with bags rushing  to get on and off them...

  • I'm happy we have never lived in a large city ... only suburbs.   Our son lives in the Washington DC area.  The Metro (subway) is very efficient, but crowded.  Driving in and near DC is horrible!  Sometimes, traffic is so bad after work, he just pulls off the interstate highway and has dinner and waits out the rush hour before continuing home!  Bumper to bumper traffic for hours!  I have no idea how those people stay sane driving that every day.

The area where Element 99 lives is full of oil refineries, 2 in his town and at least a few more within 50 miles or so. Yesterday, I saw prices as low as $2.04 per gallon.

I don't care.  And this is not personal.  What I mean is I don't look because I don't care.
