I read where Michael paid out a whopping $200 million in out of court settlements to his accusers, even though he was never found guilty. What possesses anyone to pay out that kind of money when they are not guilty. I sure as hell wouldn't if I was innocent (if I was ever that rich). As a matter of fact, I wouldn't pay a cent to anyone who made false claims against me. It would be like the judge telling me if I plead guilty to child molestation, I would be guaranteed no jail time. I would turn the offer down. I've heard it said that the accused could lose more money if they took it to court, but imo it's the same as pleading guilty. If you had been in the same position as Michael, would you be willing to shell out millions to keep it out of court? less
