Did you hear about Mr. Potato Head?

The toy company that makes Mr. Potato Head has decided to give it a gender neutral name and start marketing it as Potato Head - I think it is kind of silly.  Cheers and happy weekend!

    I saw that on the news this morning.  This nonsense is getting out of control.  Really - a gender neutral potato head.  What next?

    • The city of Somerville, Massachusetts, has passed an ordinance making it one of the first cities in the nation to officially recognize polyamorous relationships. The city no longer limits the number of people included in a partnership. The change, which was unanimously passed by the city council last week, required only a minor shift in language.

    My kids have both a Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.  The Potato Heads have switched genders and mixed and matched many times over already.

    Isn't the term "potato head" derogatory?  By using this offensive title, are we not setting a bad example for our recently self-aware persons as  they typically develop.    Calling a child's toy "potato head" is an outright slur to any person whose physical appearance may resemble said shape.  After all, a person can not help the form of their skull upon arrival in this current plane of existence.  Shame on you Hasbro!  Shame, shame!

    I hadn't heard. I do not care. I do not think the human race is in danger of extinction because of homosexuality or transgender. I do not believe the general acceptance of people who are gay or who have gender dysmorphia is some sort of conspiracy to stop people from reproducing.  (I swear to you, I know people who believe that nonsense!)

    I don't have to understand or even agree with something to have empathy for other humans and their personal journeys. There are people doing genuine and deliberate harm to others, many while disguising it as help, for profit. Let's worry about them.
