Cleaning the bathroom is the one household chore that I hate doing.

My household chores are outside and the only one I  hate is cleaning the gutters. Cheers!

  • I never had to clean the bathroom growing up, but in college when I shared a house with three other guys, I ended up taking on the role of "cleaner" for the most part and cleaning the bathroom was part of my duties (although we occasionally pooled our money and hired house-cleaners). As bad as that was, for some reason I can't stand cleaning a refrigerator. So part of the deal was that my roommates always cleaned the fridge, the stove, and took out the garbage. I did everything else.

Taking out the trash I guess which involves walking to the dumpster WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY on the other side of the complex. My mom and dad are too old to do it themselves. This post was edited by Zack at May 24, 2021 2:23 PM MDT

I can’t stand having to constantly repeat to her that I expect her to make sandwiches and serve them to me BEFORE she does all the other housework! BEFORE means BEFORE, and not AFTER! It’s getting to be an everyday thing around here! Doesn’t anyone have a good solid work ethic these days? Grrrrrrr.

(By the way, Babe, don’t cut the crusts off of the bread, use medium heat when you iron my polo shirts, the beef stew was a bit stringy last night, use white thread when you darn my socks, there’s a lot of dust collecting on top of Tilde Vault #3 in the sub-basement, and if it’s not too much trouble, how about vacuuming in a cross-cross pattern instead of parallel? You’re Sweet when you make those faces, now chop-chop and get that PB&J in here as fast as you can shake your little tail!)

Pretty much everything.  You dust and vacuum and six months later, you have to do it again!

All that work just to remove about 2 1/2 ounces of dirt and dust.!

You only have 2 1/2 ounces of dirt and dust?

I might have more than 2 1/2 ounces of dust and dirt to clean up in my place  but I think most people have tidier habits than I do, eg removing footwear at the door etc. So guessing a clean-up in your (average) place might only require about 2 1/2 oz. of dust and lint to be removed.

Well, I don't remove shoes when I walk in.  I should probably dust and vacuum more often, but once I get finished cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen, I reward myself with by my cleaning streak. :)

That's good. I am being moved to a different unit in the building which does not have carpets. Good because I don't really like carpets or vacuuming, tile floors are easier to manage, I think.
My present place needs a renovation.

Tile is easier to keep clean - a damp mop and you're done.  We are required to have 80% of our floors covered, so I don't have a lot of choice.  I opted for wall-to-wall carpeting so I don't have to vacuum AND mop. :)
