Discussion»Questions»Life and Society» Have you ever heard or been in a conversation about using dead humans in the production of animal and pet foods? Thoughts?
I do not like the thought and think it could lead to other problems. Health wise for the animals and perhaps even cause the animals to seek out live humans as food.
I thought of the same things. I remember hearing many years ago (after one of those downed planes and people ate the dead) that meat from humans was very salty.
If it's processed the same way as other meats in pet food - I don't see it causing animals to seek out live humans as food. It's not like pets seek out current food animals, beyond their natural tendencies.
IE: Housecats aren't commonly stalking horses, cows, or pigs.
I just don't see it happening because people are too attached to the bodies of their dead friends/relatives.
I never heard of it happening but I could imagine a surgeon gathering up all the body tissues removed during operations and taking it home to feed the cats.
