EXCLUDING bad manners, what is a sleeping habit you display that is weird, strange, odd, funny, or quirky?

Having been born and raised in a place with a cold climate about eight or nine months out of the year, I believe that’s when and where I developed the practice of sleeping with the sheet and/or blankets covering me completely, to include my entire face and entire head. It’s the same way when I have used sleeping bags; I zip myself in completely. Not only that, but I can do either of these (sleep with blankets covering my face and head or zipped into a sleeping bag) for extended periods of time, up to and including the whole night. I do not have a problem breathing that way, nor am I claustrophobic. No one else I’ve known has ever been able to do it for more than a few minutes at a time, and everyone marvels that they don’t see how I can do it without suffocating.

Yes, much of my life I lived with cold winters.  I sleep like that too because I don't like to have heat on at night.  I can cover my head and make a place for just my nose to be exposed so I can breath.  Really.

You're supposed to do it that way for all practicalities sake Thriftymaid. I have live in Boston most of my life and I know a little cold at night is doable with enough cover. I also fight to make breathing space sometimes. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at February 7, 2022 8:26 PM MST

I sleep on top of my bed with another separate blanket on top of me.

I rarely "open" up the bed sheets/covers and "get inside."

My bed remains "made" most of the time.

    :)

For the past several years, for some reason, I find it more comfortable than being sealed inside sheets and blankets.

I did that as a kid so I did not have to make the bed.

Lately I've been doing it as an adult just because I find it more comfortable for some reason.

I sleep ramshackle whatever does the job. I think maybe I slept on my back once or twice, and then my stomach a lot,  but now it is always my side. Always. I have blankets and a comforter but if I can pull my clothes pile on top. Hey! Elliot Gould sleeps on his back uncovered with all his cloths still on!       You would know or might know because some things related to sleep are in the preparation for getting into bed or the preparation for going to sleep.

I really don't do anything unusual, at least not for me. I do rotate like a barbecue spit because of pains in various parts of my body.

It's not a habit because it doesn't happen regularly and it isn't by choice ... but I sometimes wake up laughing maniacally and have no idea why.

I've done that, but usually realize it was due to a ridiculous dream.

It's weird because I normally remember my dreams - except when I wake up laughing like some movie supervillain.
Thus, I believe my subconscious may have crossed into a dimension where I am a supervillain.
