Could Trump still do his YMCA dance if he becomes the Pope?

Lately Trump has been “joking” that he would like to be the Pope. And today he posted an image on Truth Social of him as Pope. I bet the catholic church found it disturbing. And I had a laugh imaging Trump as a YMCA dancing Pope. Cheers and happy weekend!

I was just thinking that maybe Trump wants to be Pope because the job comes with a Popemobile.

He could drive around town while doing his YMCA dance for everyone to see.

    Cheers and happy weekend!

That will cause some further divide ends when the MAG's can't agree with themselves too much self-centered and invested self-interests divisiveness individuality at stake for survival of the me only me failed tribulars mindset. Maybe I don't understand human into wrack shuns. Demotivate meandering never landing. Hearing can't standing pop up mop up. Selective intelligence the art of omitting. Picky and pushy palindrome. Fuck Trump! Fuck Musk! This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at May 4, 2025 1:26 AM MDT

A lot of the GOP are defending Trump by claiming Trump was just joking when he posted an AI photo of himself dressed as the Pope. Personally I don’t get the joke and I bet the 1.4 billion Catholics didn’t get the joke either. Cheers!

They don't find a joke about their beloved leader who just died funny? What's wrong with them?  What if Trump died and Mark Carney posted a photo of himself in the Oval Office, wouldn't that be hilarious?

I was thinking after the Cardinals make their decision for a new Pope they should announce that it is Donald J Trump the 2nd. Then after a few days announce – ha ha we had our fingers crossed – we would never pick Trump as the new Pope. Cheers!

I heard Trump brought a bag of birdseed to bribe the Cardinals.

Yep and that bag of birdseed cost American tax payers a bit more because of Trump’s tariffs. Cheers!

Mark Carney wouldn't make fun of the dead. But maybe it would be funny if Carney wore a 4 Nations Face-Off championship game jersey when he meets with Trump (Trump wasn’t happy about the results of that game).
The last couple of days Trump has been back on the old - Canada should be the 51st state thing. He is about to meet with a big trading partner and that’s what he is talking about. Cheers!

    I

I'm not a Christian and I found this offensive, so I can only imagine how Catholics must feel.  I saw this on Facebook today.

The Dalai Lama is almost 90. I wonder if Trump will get a chance to mock him as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump has no idea there is such a thing as a Dalai Lama.  Ergo, he won't be attending the funeral, assuming he would even be invited. This post was edited by Spunky at May 5, 2025 9:10 AM MDT

In the past Trump has done and said a lot of things that people found highly offensive. And he always claims that he was just joking. But this time he is going to get so much backlash because no one will find it funny – that he will try something new. Maybe he will claim that since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery he was honoring the Pope by dressing up like him. Cheers!

If he does, that wouldn't shock me.

I'm a Christian and I find this terribly offensive.
My point: I think you may be correct. Both Christians and non-Christians can find this offensive.

I find it terribly wrong and rude.
And not funny at all, regardless if some others may defend him by saying he was joking. Including the man himself.

If anything, I find the timing bad.

It was an absolutely tasteless thing to post.

He also managed to offend Star Wars fans.

Well because of Trump’s tariffs his lightsaber is dimming.

The majority of batteries sold in the US are imported from China. And most of the lithium-ion the US uses to make batteries is also imported. Good luck fighting the Empire with a dim lightsaber Donald. Cheers!

I note that Trump's lightsaber is RED - the mark of a Sith.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, so I had to look this up. Based on what the colors symbolize, that would be the correct color.

You' simply wouldn't expect this from an elected leader of a country. Doing this publicly just demonstrates his complete lack of class and judgement.

Having said that, when Trump eventually dies, I'll be posting similar disrespectful attempts at comedy.

Thought I would add that Trump didn’t just post the pope meme on Truth Social – it was also posted on the official WH website. I think that makes it even worse. Cheers!

I'm not Catholic but I was raised that way. I'm certain that my mother is revolving in her grave. It was both tasteless and callous, particularly in the immediate aftermath of the funeral of the first Pope in a long time to take the oath of poverty seriously, he passed with less than $100 to his name.
Francis never lived in the Papal palace, but in the far more modest guest apartments. And even before he was elected Pope,  as Cardinal Archbishop of Buenos Aires he shunned the See and lived in an austere apartment in downtown BA.

As if we weren't already offended enough by him making a show of chewing gum and texting while seated in the front row at the funeral, standing on the carpet under the casket after being told not to step on it since it was considered holy, and then rushing off so he could get back to his golf game. He was sending a message of deliberate disrespect then, so the AI depiction is just a continuation. Trump probably wants to emphasize that he is more important than a mere pope.

When Trump visited the Queen he had his helicopter land on the front law – even though he was told that it could damage the law - so use the helicopter pad in the back. But Trump had to make a grand entrance. Well he was there he also sat in a chair that was roped off and had a sign that said Please Don’t Sit In Chair. And lets not forget that he shoved a diplomat out of the way so he could get into a photo op. Trump has no class or respect. Cheers!
