There aren't any that grow outside by where I live so I did some research. The closest place to where palm trees grow outside is ~1330 km / ~820 miles from where I live. I'm a long way away from any palm trees.
Phoenix has so many palm trees they start to seem like weeds. Yuma has dozens of groves of date palms. But in fact there is only one tiny canyon, fifty miles out in the desert, where native palms grow. http://talesfromthebackroad.com/palm-canyon-arizona/
they don't grow naturally in my area but some have been planted 20 years ago and are still around (cold weather has killed a couple of them over the years)
