  • I was thinking the same thing.  I never would have pictured M2c and MD20/20 together.   Not now or a long, long time ago.

Canned peas and carrots.  They are disgusting.  Too mushy and taste too much like the tin can.  My mother wouldn't let me leave the table without eating them.  I remember using my milk to swallow them down like pills.

  • Not that I can think of, though my best friend admitted he will never eat Mini Wheats again because it reminded him of a time when he was doing badly in school and was about to flunk a grade.

For years I wouldn't eat a packet product called 'savoury rice' it had rice, peas etc..  I was around 5, and was sick that night - I think unrelated to the rice but in my mind I associated with being sick. I had a note from my mum saying I didn't have to eat that at school.
My son wont eat Chicken Kiev because he associates it with a drain full of dead frogs I asked him to sort out for me.. ewww. But safe to say we made the drain so that frogs could NOT get trapped there again, so it was a worthwhile exercise.

  • You know when somethin' stinks you can taste the air kinda?

I guess it's the fact that cauliflowers smells like  rotten gym socks and foot fungus that asssume the awful taste is the smell.

Since I wash my socks and clean my feet, I don't know what you are talking about.

I actually love cauliflower.  I steam it with zucchini, brush with olive oil, throw some freshly grated parmesan cheese on it along with some S & P.  Yum.  Makes my farts smell like flowers.

    Liquorice.
When I was a kid, any time I got a cold my mother used to feed me copious quantities of Nyal decongestant. It's aniseed flavoured, so I have this subconscious association between the flavour of aniseed and feeling sick. Liquorice, Sambucca, fennel - anything with a hint of that flavour,  I dislike.

I'm right there with you.  HATE licorice, sambucca, anise, & fennel.  One of my first jobs was with a company that distributed a licorice flavored gum. During my interview, the President of the company, asked me if I had tried it.  I told him I did because a roommate came home with it the week before and offered me a piece.  He asked me if I liked it & I told him no! But I did explain it was only because I just don't like licorice.  Later he told me he offered me the job because I wasn't afraid to be honest with him. He was a great guy.  One of only two bosses I've ever had that I really enjoyed working for.
