Do you really think your birth was necessary?

In a small way, my birth expanded the popularity of motorcycle racing in my county.  In 1971, I bought the first real 'race bike' from a local dealer. Then some buddies bought race bikes. Then dozens of folks bought off-road bikes. Along came all terrain vehicles and every farmer in the county bought one. So, in a way, I introduced a lot of people to the fun of off road riding.

Duh. I could not have stayed in there forever, dude, something had to happen eventually.

What if you had stayed in there forever? Are you sure you couldn't have?

Let's be realistic here: what about all the tildes that would have gone unherded, and more importantly, who would have been on constant grammar patrol here?

Yes my birth was timed quite right -when the world was short one person so I came along just to fill that vacancy.

Ha ha what an inventive question! Honest answer? No, not necessary.. I think the world would have done just as well without me.. But I have made many a contribution, things wouldn't have happened without me, other things would have happened that shouldn't have... and who knows what my offspring and their offspring, (if they have any) might do...

I have saved the odd beetle from drowning.. so I am sure my life, on balance is a good thing in the scheme of things :P

I suspect this is a case where English and American grammar differ. In English grammar it would be, "Me neither."

At the time, I'm sure my mother was so convinced.

I'm not sure about later years, however, since she had no natural gift for motherhood and generally did a really poor job.

I finally overcame the negative effects of my childhood about 7 years ago---officially pronounced by a counselor.  And I was 65.
