I watched about the first five minutes of it and HAD to turn it off. I don’t know who the he11 the two announcers were, but they were so freaking annoying. I couldn’t stand to watch one more minute.
I didn't watch it, was too busy, and I managed to entirely forget it was even on. However, I did, unintentionally, catch the highlights.
Personally, I found it interesting.... from these perspectives....
1) The fact that the bride was American did make it different. there were distinct American touches that we have not seen before in a Royal wedding... American flags on the street and the minister banging on passionately about love... that has never been seen in a Royal wedding before, they are usually pretty serious and staid affairs. So that was interesting.. 2) It was interesting how Charles walked Meghan down the isle... that was touching. It's touching to me how well they have accepted her.. that's cool 3) While there was tradition, there were clearly modern touches... that was interesting to see how things have developed, even from Diana's time. 4) Interesting too that they do seem to be in love, which isn't always, or hasn't always, been the case in royal weddings.
Royal weddings have traditionally been quite somber affairs, staid and very much into pageantry. So no not really seen anything quite like the one yesterday.
Americans have this vision of Cinderella when they think of royal weddings. British royals are quite aware of that vision, especially when the bride is an American. So there is no point in watching, because you can only find disappointment when it doesn't measure up to your vision.
