Discussion»Questions»Human Behavior» A two-part question: when you were a child, did you ever lie to any adult, and as an adult, have you ever lied to a child? ~
As a child I lied like a trooper, I still cringe about it today - it was horrible. I used to lie to my mum too - and she always said she knew when I was lying.. I believed her and now, I cannot lie, because I believe people can tell... So that answers the second question in a way too.. No, I have never lied to a child.. My own children know that if I have something painful to tell them I would rather tell them as sensitively as possible and deal with the consequences than have them not trust me..
I feel like I just jumped on a merry-go-round! OH! A thought just came to mind! Your answer inspired me!! :):)

No, Randy D. I promise. I never lied as a child. Cross my heart..... No, Randy D. As an adult, I know lies only dig your grave quicker with children having the shovel after they found out you lied to them. They cause many disturbances in financial affairs, marriages, and careers and most definitely detouring children. A bad idea when they will be taking care of your funerals.
Do you know what really taught me the Art of "not" lying? My teens.
Of course, I never knew because I never lied. However, I've heard as a child, there are supposedly numerous ways of punishment. As an adult there are very serious consequences. But as a teen, there are a whole slew of angles lying could come in. No one will ever catch you.
I swear. I've never lied in my entire life. EVER!

Yes, its more grown up sounding, yet if we all took a second to look at ourselves truthfully, we would all have to confess we lie. Some more than others, but non the less, humans are born liars. lol
