Yea loads of times. And in relationships with people i met online.. We just have to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and try not to let it beat us
I have not, because I don't take on-line friendships that seriously. But, I have been hurt in real-life friendships, so I think there are risks, no matter how you meet people.
Kind of CallMelshmael. Being duped is being tricked into something. If you were duped in an online friendship it means that person wasn't really your friend to begin with. They may be back-stabbing you to someone else on another site or just spreading rumors about you. Awful and wicked things people sometimes do to each other. Certainly no true friend would do that to you.
Both, getting dumped and duped, feel terrible and normally end any sort of friendship/relationship you had with that person.

On facebook I get a lot of friend requests from attractive young ladies in distant states, always with sparse profiles and no friends. A google search for the image reveals the source, usually some obscure country. Once it was the face of a Nigerian pop singer.
Ladies tell me they get a lot of requests from retired unmarried military officers.
