Discussion»Questions»Politics» Instead of trying to enforce huge tariffs on US trading partners to pay off debt why doesn't president Trump just nicely ask themfor money?
Well because if he did that he would have the same chance of getting the money as he does with Mexico paying for the wall. Right now Trump is trying to pressure Canada into signing his trade deal but it won't work because we know things that he doesn't seen to know - like Mexico doesn't have a logging industry. Canada has more natural resources then you can shake a hockey stick at and the US needs them just as much as Canada needs US products. Trump just made a trade deal with Mexico - the day after he made it he was telling the press how great it was then he added that it was such a great deal that it will make it easy for Mexico to pay for the wall. The next day the Mexican president told the press that Mexico will not be paying for the wall and I bet it was enough to make Trump start thinking about breaking the deal so maybe soon Mexico. the US and Canada will be back at square one. Cheers!
