Do you want to ride THE most terrifying amusement park ride with me?

I dare you!!

I've ridden tons of roller coasters of all kinds, speeds, heights, etc.

But, by FAR, this ride literally scares me out of my mind and body almost.

The Wind Seeker  at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio, USA

(I came across this video and just watching it . . .  I had to stop, ha!)

Sure, if you buy the tickets. Rides don't scare me. Except maybe riding on the Turnpike when my wife is driving. That's scary.

I hear the tickets are pretty expensive. Like $75 for a single admission? Not that Cedar Point isn't worth it.
    :)

Your wife can drive us all there on the turnpike. Maybe a new terrifying ride for me.

White knuckles the whole trip. We used to go at least once a summer when the kids were young, but I got to the point where I couldn't stand in the long lines with the sun beating down on me. I'm sure I will never go again.

Yeah, I never liked that part of the day, either - - sun right on me for long lengths of time through the whole day.

My mother was a member of the American Automobile Club and they have good discounts. ($40 per ticket, 3 years ago)

It looks like the old swing rides but with poles instead of chains.  It didn't seem that scary but I can't ride anything that goes round and round.  Watching this made me nauseated.

Yeah, it would probably be tough for you. Funny, I don't do so well with "circle rides" either but it's the height of this ride that scares me so badly. It's 300 feet in the air and it goes around pretty fast and I feel so exposed and vulnerable, as if I may fall. Or something like that. (Riders are harnessed incredibly securely in the seats but I still felt vulnerable.)

Oh,  - - and you're right - - this ride is really nothing more than a faster, supersonic version of the swing rides.

You wouldn't like the ride that goes around and around, the floor drops out from underneath and you stick to the walls.

( Funny - - at this same amusement park, there used to be that ride! It was called The Rotor. Crazy feeling! )

    Thanks but no thanks.

Four people died last year at an amusement park about an hour from where we live.
    The inquest found:
    - the emergency stop button was not labeled or marked.
    - operators had not been told where the button was, nor trained in how and when to use it.
    - the ride had glitched once a week for several weeks, but there were not enough maintenance crew to fix the problem.
    - management knew of the problem but had made the decision that profit was more important than safety.

After the accident, people stopped coming to the fun park.
It was sold to another company and renovated - but still no one trusted the new rides and the company is now in receivership.

That is sad, no doubt. I do think of events like that. To its credit, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, USA is well-respected world-wide as a premier type of park. Or something like that. But, believe me, I still get your point. (No pun intended; "point.")

No accident that the best places have no accidents.
Lucky you being so near one of the best. That would be fun.
And if I were in your area, yes, I've love to try it with you.

That'd be fun! We could have fun while I get scared to death!
    :)
Oh -- and I'm a blast to hang out with at an amusement park! Ha!
