Most of my questions are silly. Why do they attract so many serious responses?, With lots of biblical stuff and philosophical answers.

I'm sure that what I consider to be the extreme requirements regarding respect for all opinions as required by moderation on this site leads people to have a mindset that requires your questions to be given serious consideration even when you would prefer they not be.

It's a philosophical mystery.

Are you not at least somewhat pleased that your silly questions (your words) can spawn more serious conversations? 

Perhaps it could be attributed to the presence of a number of serious minds who frequent this site. Just MHO. 

Because if you ask a question, I answer it.  If you want to be silly, then that's okay.  If I get tired of silly, I answer it seriously.

I am not one for continued silly.    But I do love that word.

Because people here really like the sound of their own voice (or I suppose, the sight of their own words). 

"Better safe than sorry."

"They don't understand you like I do."

"You're reading more into the answers than you should."

"Just showing that you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear."

Apparently I missed that particular drama.  Whew!     I enjoy your questions. Keep them coming...

If silly answers is what you want you could try asking some serious questions.  See if that helps.

You should see what people post as serious questions at other sites. There was one this morning at quora.com something about using the big bang to prove the existence of God.

I'm not on here enough to know that, in future I'll take that on board. 

Here is one that just came by email: "If we put a giant mirror at 10 lightyears' distance from the Earth, would we be able to see 20 years back by looking into that mirror from Earth?"

probably cause people think theyre funny
