I think we could list as heroes a variety of individuals who changed the world, or our view of it. I‘d challenge that Nancy Pelosi, assuming one even knows who she is, has done neither.
Yeah, you're right, Don Barzini. After I posted, I started to think the same thing you're mentioning. Just recently I've been thinking about some friends of mine -- I'm close to everyone in their family -- the parents and the now-young-adult children and another younger child. And, without going into details, they are indeed heroic to me in major decisions and actions they have done together as a family. They have changed my view of the world for the better.
As far as now-famous people, like Tubman -- I can hardly comprehend the things she did.

Why do I keep seeing this word in posts that don't relate to anything in the definition?
However, Tubman comes pretty close to a divine being in my eyes. "A revelatory manifestation of a divine being" -- that pretty well sums up my experience as a young guy first reading about Tubman. :)

I do like her, no apologies! lol. She has made the Trumpster unhappy and that is good enough for me to give her some praise! She canceled his SOTU address and wouldn't give him 5 billion for his wall!! Well done Nancy in my eyes! Haters can hate, won't change my opinion at all!
