What nitpicking laws are in your state (country) that drive you crazy?

In my state, the animal police go around to stores and restaurant parking lots looking for animals in cars.  If they feel the animal is in distress, you get a fine.
I love animals and I have a pet, but don't you think it's interfering a bit much when people are looking for problems and getting into your business?  What gives the state the right to tell you how to take care of your pet?  "Oh, I see your pet's toenails are too long.  Bad owner!"

In "woke" Massachusetts, the supposed wicked smaaaaaat liberals who run our state and those who've been indoctrinated in our state by the "progressive" LEFT,  will scowl in horror at someone smoking a freakin' CIGARETTE in public, as if those cigarette smokers are LEPERS...eh whereas they as "progressive" Liberals have no problem AT ALL with our kids now smelling the ever growing stench of marijuana at our ball fields, smelling the stench of weed while they're in a store or seeing people smoking a joint in public...#WHYliberalismISaMentalDisorder.

When I was a teenager back in the 70's we were told  by our Science teachers in Junior High that we were on the cusp of the next ICE AGE......AND were also told that our families were contributing to KILLING THE PLANET if our mom's still used paper bags at the grocery store, thus encouraging us to tell our moms to request PLASTIC bags instead of brown bags lol!!!!!!!!
Now these Einsteins are telling our youth the opposite lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

True about the smoking which I neglected to mention as I stopped smoking years ago.  Where I live they were so eager to comply with a state directive to establish "marijuana dispensaries"  that they voted down my concerns about siting them near schools and rehabilitation clinics.  You must be my age.  I didn't grow up here.

Massachusetts is one f'd up state.....on one hand the "progressives" RULING my state want to ban smoking cigarettes, yet on their other hand they as our WICKED SMAAAAAAAAT liberal legislatures voted to make smoking marijuana LEGAL in my state and want to have marijuana stores in their liberal cities to CASH IN on drug addicts.......knowing damn well that our state has a huge epidemic of HEROINE addicts dying from ODing on heroine....so their "progressive" solution as being "compassionate liberals" is for the GOVERNMENT(other peoples money) to provide/GOVERNMENT safe spaces for heroine addicts to be able to shoot up in a safe space having a nurse on hand to monitor their heroine intake...smh.
And liberals wonder why COMMON SENSE Americans are walking away from the Democrat party.

      (if our mom‘s still used)
      (if our moms)

It’s a plural noun, not a possessive singular noun.

So you think that just because there exists an error in one direction there cannot be an error in the opposite direction?

LOL  Just because … and you think … escape this person.  THINK?  That is a concept that totally evades this consciousness.   This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at April 18, 2019 10:18 AM MDT

Yes, perhaps I should have used concluded rather than think.

(During high school, I would occasionally use a coin toss during true-false tests just to freak out the teacher.)

  • Unfortunately, those types of laws are necessary because there are many people who don't use common sense in deciding what is or isn't safe for their pets or their children.  You would think that as adults we wouldn't need to be told not to leave our children or pets alone in closed cars when it's too hot or cold .. or even safe to do that .. but that's not always the case.

There have been so many dogs left in cars turned in to ovens when left left unattended in cars in the sun with no windows open....
So many people leave their own  small children and it only takes a few minuets to make the temlretures unbarable inside of any vechiles....

To just sit in a car or van with the doors open in summer is bad enough....

Their is nothing wrong with helping animals when they are owned by stupid people....

You can't own another living thing.........you can only care and look after it.....
We had a dog when we were small ....we never owned it ...it just lived with us and we all cared for it....
