Nothing food-wise. Probiotics are the wave of the future.  Everything fermented has enzymes used to break down digestion and there are key factors that you do not have in food that is not fermented.  Vinegar is the opposite of fat.  To me, anyway.]

Me - I can get pretty rowdy when I'm pickled. Also tofu should never be pickled. Cheers!

Why?  It definitely SHOULD.  IT is called TEMPEH.

Yeah. It should. It is called Tempeh.  Cheers!   Like I said, ANYTHING could and should be pickled.

That photo showed me how much I can't stand Trump - I have some VHS tape cases that look exactly like the books in the photo and now I'm thinking of throwing them away because they might remind me of Trump. Cheers!

It depends on what kind.  There are actually different kinds now.  The Korean stuff with the rotted fish?  No thanks.

The cabbage fermented naturally in it's own juice?  Very healthy.  (not my favorite taste, but I DRANK VODKA FOR GODSAKE)

    Fermented spuds are delicious.

You got me on the spaghetti though.  Nope. No, you don't.  I think people are thinking of a JAR and seeing spaghetti or potatoes sitting in a pickle jar.  Most things that a pickled and healthy taste awful from just doing that.

Dill Pickle Pasta Salad is literally my favorite pasta salad ever! In this creamy pasta salad recipe, dill pickles play a starring role and add tons of flavor and crunch! This recipe is even better when it's made ahead of time making it the perfect potluck dish! This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at October 14, 2019 1:58 PM MDT

Not merely spaghetti sauce, but the entire thing - spaghetti w/meatballs - pickled. (frankly I'm grossed out by pickled pigs feet, but to each their own)

I'm grossed out by ANY animal part being eaten by me.  But that is me.  I don't go for dead creatures that died because I wanted it's foot.

I got dared to eat one of these when I was a teenager.  They were just ewwwy and gross and no matter how many times I washed my hands I couldn't get the smell off of my fingers.  If gasoline could rot these are what it would smell like.

OH my GOD.  You are so right.  Pickled chocolate?  Still better than Vegemite.  But Vegemite is HEALTHY.

I don't know what the people at Cadbury were smoking when they came up with that. I like Vegemite, but it doesn't belong in chocolate.

Probably any food can be pickled,
but I'd say foods already preserved by another means shouldn't be pickled.
For instance, one could pickle dried apricots but there'd be no point because it probably wouldn't improve their flavour.
