I have the lousiest luck with jobs and have felt like a temp lately for the last 5 yrs except not thru the temps, i cant even get a job thru them. anyways, this place is practically wanting to hire me , right now theyre checking my background stuff and i gotta do a urine test for drugs too. im in school too and that starts tomorrow, and i could pick my own schedule so that helps with school, its part time but i havent even been able to find part time lately either and i could really use a job since ive been living on no income the past 5 yrs, literally. Ive tried several jobs and none have worked out. the last one was at a calling center, i scored a 73 on their test instead of an 85, i was only there two wks, i do better in food service and left the resorts only cause i had to have two hip implants and a knee surgery, so how do i kee... less

I am someone who is a bit shy about speaking up though; I often just let things 'go' for the sake of being agreeable. I am unsure whether I do have the right with only part time shifts to say that I need a set schedule; I never know what time I'm getting ou t. IN the beginning she told me sometimes, she'd be late, running just a half hour late than normal. But now it is very typical for once a week that she's running late, and some days, she could arrive early , or again, late. I don't want to seem ungrateful for the position, and want to be 'available' like I said I would be if she was late, but would you say, 'It would be beneficial for me to know what time I'm leaving' ? I have had to cancel two things already b/c she was late. another thing I'd like to bring up to her is how she overrides what I say to the child , in the case of running.. he is onl... less

I've literally been living on zero income and i mean literally. I sometimes apply for nanny jobs and now I have this one family that just had a baby interested in me. They seem like really nice people too. I cant get anything going here. I have hud housing but dont really like where i live. cant make any friends here , not even to have so much as a cup of coffee with so i rarely get to do stuff with people. theyre in texas. cost Ive been in school lately but Im on academic probation again so Im afraid if I dont take this chance I'll lose out on school too, never been book smart. theyre mostly interested in me. Last wknd i was sending out resumes, and yes i did it on christmas day too, didnt have anywheres to go anyways, someone called me the next day and th... more Last wknd i was sending out resumes, and yes i did it on christmas day too, didnt have anywheres to go anyways, someone called me the next day and then someone else called me the day after, then they sent me an email with a whole bunch of stuff to do online, it took me a couple of hrs to do and then i printed out 32 pages to send them and was filling out all kinds of paperwork for background checks and stuff like that that i had to fill out an sign, then i also had to do an online food handling course. the job is for handing out samples in supermarkets, its part time which is good since i can go to school too. I finally got done this morning with everything, they called me monday, so it took me this long to get everything done. anyways, today i went to the library and printed out the certificate, then went to the post office which is near the library, got a big envelope and put all 32 pages plus a copy of the certificate which im surprised i passed, im bad at passing stuff and mail... less

Im uncertain if she might do that tomorrow again, ask me to come in in 2 hours, (b/c she had said she 'may' need tomorrow).. what would you do? Say no, or say yes perhaps or say you needed more notice ?
