It doesn't matter what proof there is or what guilt there is and what harm is being done they are steady and determined to continue providing aid and comfort and cover. They are, therefore, all co-conspirators and guilty for harboring aiding and abetting their man. Proudly they do it. Certain they are that only they are in step and the rest of the world is not.
