That many people have less common sense than I thought possible. That, in a crisis situation, people react differently than they would normally; some get more altruistic and some get more selfish.
Oh, please. If it wasn't for a modicum of socialism, you wouldn't have public schools, an interstate road system, police and fire departments and a lot of other things that we all contribute towards that make our lives more livable.
That people will hoard toilet paper as though there will never be any more of it produced. We don't import it - we make it here in the U.S.A. so there's no reason for there to be a run on it.
They are very peculiar, these human-things. They tend initially to refuse to react at all, then transition immediately to overreaction. In my many years among them, I am yet to see the bulk of them react fittingly and on time.
My recommendation to the galactic council remains: asteroid.
