Which one of your many quirks do you think is the most endearing?

[Please don’t try to wiggle out of this one by claiming you don’t have any. That’s a quirk in itself. Grrrrrrrrrr. ~]

Your quirks? What makes you think I know all of your quirks?

I'm sure you don't, but you've probably deduced some.

I have quirks. Not totally sure which ones are endearing and which are just annoying. :P

Playing hard to get certainly intrigues me the most.

I've seen people try to get a reaction from you, but it just makes you kinder. And when people are kind to you, it just makes you kinder. No matter what, you just become kinder.

    That's pretty quirky/insane.

I used to thrash my head all over the place out of misery and insanity. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at September 4, 2024 12:32 PM MDT

Yes. I have! More than most. Some, more than others.

“Your Honor, we would like to produce a surprise witness at this time, a gentleman who will testify as to the character, or lack thereof, of this person who claims to be “Canadian Jaimie” . . . by coincidence, he just happens to be your nephew, your favorite nephew at that, but we rely on your integrity and professionalism to keep you from allowing that to sway your decision-making in any way. (Cough, cough.)”

    Possibly my startle reaction.

At loud, sudden noises, I most often jump and yell and sort of momentarily freeze -- sometimes even fall.

Laughing, a friend who's known me a long time said I'm very much like a Fainting Goat.

Just checking to be on the safe side: you’re not sorry about either one of those, right? Grrrrr.

Finally, someone who has a stronger startle reaction than mine! When I was working and deep in concentration, my boss used to start softly calling my name and gradually get louder, from several feet away, to avoid having me jump and scream when he came to see me. Instead of 'hello', most people greeted me with, 'sorry, I didn't mean to scare you'.

I hate to be startled, punked, scared by someone or tricks played on me.  I don't do that to anyone else either.

Now, what if that goat were easily winning the race to the manger, then looked back and decided to wait for the others to catch up because it's more fun to run together?

Bless your heart for remembering that I, indeed, did do that. Thanks for  reminding me  :)

That would have been a better answer for me to put down than the one I did. ha!

Quirks?  Who says I have quirks?  Actually, now that I think of it, I do have one.  I will not buy or read a used book unless I know who bought it before me.  I don't know what someone has smeared on its pages and I have no interest in finding out.

When I was looking at $1.00 used books at Good Will to include in my care packages to the troops, I flipped through some pages and was appalled at what was on some of them.  I loaned a book to a co-worker one time who then asked if she could loan it to her sister.  Naturally, I said she could.  When the book came back months later, it was dog-eared, had jelly (I think it was jelly) smeared on it along with oil stains and some other stuff.  That was it for me.  I know one thing; had my sister returned a book like that, I would have replaced it before giving it back to the lender.
