What was the last thing that made you nervous?

Performance anxiety.  I had dozens of grammar citations to issue already, and more infractions kept being committed every few seconds, I could barely keep up. Not only that, I was being pestered to put them away for the night and do something else. Decisions, decisions. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Yes, I m sure that doing that 'something else ' would give you performance anxiety.

Not in my case, my dear! I’ve been boning up in that area for years now, perfecting my techniques for when you finally come to your senses and stop with the restraining orders and let nature take its course!

Wait, what? They‘ve finally invented a pill that can help stop people from committing grammatical errors? Will grammar cops be authorized to administer them to perpetrators? (I’m so happy, folks!)

The one thing that makes me nervous is having to drive somewhere I've never been before.  Even with GPS, I have gotten lost and my sense of direction is pitiful.  When I ask for directions and someone says, "Get off at Exit XX and go east," I need to know whether I have to make a left or right because I have no idea where east is!  The only thing I know is that moss grows on the north side of a tree, but that's not always helpful because there are not many trees on the highway.

You're not alone in that.  Especially when everyone else knows where they're going and get impatient when you slow down to figure out where you are.

I've been thinking of yours and Spunky's little conversation here since I first read it when you both posted.

And I'm giving myself some credit - - Ever since learning to drive a LONG time ago (ha), whenever I'm behind someone who is driving slowly or whatever, I've always thought, "They must be looking for a specific place and they need extra time. "  And I don't get upset or anything.  :) This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at February 2, 2024 6:02 PM MST

I try to be patient with someone who's driving slow because of my own geographic challenges, but when I don't know where I'm going, I'm not driving in the passing lane 15 miles below the speed limit!

My own at-times distorted thinking (found in the "15 Styles of Distorted Thinking" list - - many of my worries can be found in the list).

Having to confront someone who we discovered had been stealing from our business.  This was a close friend of a family member.
