#1 - 1BR 1BA and my brother lives in my front yard.

I took care of my mother for the last six years of her life. Brother #3 owned the property. When she died, he offered to give it to me, but I didn't want to be a land owner in California, so brother #2 took it over. He thought it was neat to live in a place where the only cost was property tax. So I live in the little house on the back of the lot. My father built the place in 1953 and the whole family lived there while he built a real house on the front of the lot. It took him nine years, and only the last two kids still lived there when he finally moved into the big house.

She mentioned how fond she was of Postum. Coffee was expensive during the depression, so a lot of people drank Postum instead. I found out it was back on the market, so I got a bottle for her. She was delighted. Then I mentioned that I paid twenty bux for it, twelve for the bottle and eight for postage. She was appalled. She refused to drink it again. Too expensive!

What is /was Postum ? I never seen it here in England......I can almost hear her saying that it's far to dear and refusing to drink it......
I feel the same thing over here in England with how simple products are priced just because it's "what the market will stand " ...
I never visits shops again if I feel that that's there policy......more and more companies are following suit and have no respect for their loyal customers it feels ...

Postum is a mixture of ground toasted barley and molasses. If you don't have coffee, molasses in hot water is a fair substitute, and the barley helps.

As for the price, the product had already gone toes up once, so there is no discussion of "whatever the market will bear". This was a fond memory revived by fans who were willing to pay whatever it cost to produce it.

I shall.  Chickory  grows profusely here along roadsides, but is difficult to dig up.

Har har harrrr. Try keeping a German Shepherd and an Amstaff the size of a pitbull in a flat. The staffy was a rescue, absolutely no training when we got her and boisterous. Too affectionate in fact, but she breaks things by loving them too much.
