When’s the last time you did something nice for a stranger?

Recently while in line at Wal-Mart to lay for my items I couldn’t help a conversation between a younger couple who had an infant child. They were short on money and didn’t habe enough to pay for everything they needed. I gave the cashier and extra $40 after I paid and told her, “Use this money to help this young couple behind me pay for their necessities.“ They were only buying food, diapers, wipes, and formula. I didn’t want to give them money directly as I didn’t want to embarass them, nor did I want any recognition or attention.

    Just last night.

I was driving on a back street, and some punk came racing up behind me on a dirt bike.
Due to the traffic, he couldn't get around me ... so made a "game" of letting there be a gap, then racing up to my bumper.
When he did a wheelie a couple feet behind me, I didn't slam on my brakes.

That was good of you.  I was in line at a convenience store.  The man in front of me walked with two canes and there was a lady behind me.  When the man with the canes headed for the door I gave up my place in line to open the door for him - not much but it was something.

I help strangers every day.. but it's my job so I am thinking that doesn't count... Apart from that I really don't see anyone to help as I am always at work, at home working or at college... I almost never go out these days

I think it does count - something in your nature will have attracted you to that kind of work.

Recently a veteran with a walker and groceries was going to the bus stop and I asked him if he wanted a ride home. He was quite grateful.

A couple of weeks ago I met a family on the West Coast Trail and they were freaking out because their dog took off on them. I had my dog with me and he has tracking skills so we were able to find their dog  in less then a hour. But I don't think that was the nice part the nice part started after I brought their dog back to them and started giving them a lecture on being prepared for an emergency. They were on a trail in the middle of a Old growth forest wearing flip-flops and tee shirts  - no first aid kit  or survival kit - no bear spray  or whistles or even matches. When they were looking for their dog they had spread  out and went  off the trail for about 50 feet so I gave them a bit of a lecture about that too. Cheers!

    Last week-end.
Bought 30 each of apples, oranges and bananas and took them to a breakfast barbeque for homeless people at the riverside park in town.
They were so happy about it because the usual fair is white bread, fried onions and sausages. Most said they had not had any fruit in months.

I had an old lady come through my line on one of those motorized carts that was overflowing, when she stopped a jar of jam fell and shattered on the floor. She started crying so I rushed around and told her it was ok and called a maintenance guy to come clean it up. He also went to grab a new jar of jam for her and I unloaded all her groceries onto my belt for her. Another maintenance guy got a regular cart and loaded her groceries into it and helped her out to her car. We were all doing what we could to help that poor old lady.
