If I fell into a deep crevice while searching for tildes, needed your help to be rescued, only you and one other person knew about it, would

you merely push that other person into the crevice with me, get a bulldozer, push tons of dirt into it and bury us alive, or would you do what you know is right?

I would toss down a mountain climber's axe thingy that would be shaped like a tilde, and tease you with a sandwich buffet served by, oh, I don't know, Sharonna?

Would there even be a rope tied to that axe?

I'm no mountain climber, so my selection of proper climbing equipment would be minimal. Oh, heck, I'll toss down a jet pack.

I,of course would do  the right thing. Tell the other person to not go down there, then fill the crevasse with concrete. That way I could corner the tilde market, get all of the sandwiches and marry all the women here. Never mind...that would be boring. I'd rescue you if you would make the sammiches for one year. And no grammar corrections for one year.

      (Space after that first comma.)

It appears that I can't hold out for an entire year.

He said as the concrete pours down on him. I'll tell Jane. No more restraining orders.

I've already started burrowing, I expect to reach Chinese territory before the Kwik-Krete hardens fully. It's a good thing I just happened to have both my Mandarin and Cantonese grammar handbooks on my person. (Those restraining orders have no legal authority on foreign soil, ill I'll be texting Jane as soon as I break ground.)

I might try tossing down a rope made of tightly woven tildes.

But if that failed, I'd ring emergency services,
and in the meantime stay in touch to help keep your spirits up.

Throw down supplies. Enough Vegemite to sustain you until you're rescued.
