What can cause your brain to become 'alive, alert and activated'?

Discussing a certain topic...

Getting involved in a certain activity..

Springtime and warmer weather... (finally)

Or is your brain always 'alive, alert and activated'?

You're merely playing to Just Asking's good side.

A being of little word but great understanding!
    Some things never change.
    I love that about you!
    Hi!
I'm only on for a second but as always, you speak the truth!  I agree!
    Hugs and loves, always!

    Missed you, Merlin.
Unfortunately, I'm now around here much less for the next eight months, just peeking in once in a while.
Lovely to see you back here.

Awww!!!  Thank you Nom de Plume~
Life and other not-so-pleasant distractions seem to pop their heads up these days.  I hope your next eight months are because of happy encounters and not dreaded situations.
I look for you every time I am here and will continue to do so.
It's always a pleasure to see your pen!
    Until we meet again,
    Take Care :) :)!
    Love,
    Merlin

Mental stimulation, access to new learning, new situations and frequent problems to solve.
Plenty of social interaction, the more direct the better.
A combination of exercise, healthy diet and adequate sleep.
Cross stimulation through things like listening to and learning to play live music and learning a physical skill like a new kind of dance, craft or sport.
Meditation, and learning how to maintain that specific type of awareness in daily activities.
Avoiding excessive stress via living ethically.

I have always wished I could be as happy as the people in beer commercials. But I never figured out why you never see them actually drinking beer.
